BARA announces ‘Safety Benefits of Robots for Dangerous Tasks and Environments’ roundtable event

08 February 2021

IN ASSOCIATION with CDA, the British Automation & Robot Association (BARA), is holding a roundtable event on the Safety Benefits of Robots for Dangerous Tasks and Environments. The event will take place on Tuesday 16 March 2021 at 2.30pm.

Robots are increasingly popular within the manufacturing sector, especially collaborative robots (‘cobots’), which are designed to work with humans. Add to this recent Health and Safety Executive (HSE) findings, which indicate that one in five accidents in the workplace that result in seven or more days’ staff absence are caused by handling, lifting or carrying, and it’s the perfect time to find out how robots can contribute to a safer way of working.

The panel members being welcomed on the day are Samuel Bouchard, CEO, Robotiq; John Glover, Director, Glover Associated & Consulting, Phil Scott – MD, FDC Automation (part of The Filter Design Company); Consultative Senior Automation Engineer/ Auditor; and Andrew Mason – Sales Manager, RARUK Automation. Chairing the event will be CDA Editor, Charlotte Stonestreet.

The panel of experts will look at areas such as how robots and automation can be used to reduce risk to personnel; the types of systems available together with application examples; and which environments could particularly benefit.
