New video gives introduction to machine vision

26 September 2013

Stemmer Imaging has posted a new video to its popular YouTube channel (tv@imaging), entitled: ‘what actually is machine vision?’

This short introductory video explanation by the UK’s largest independent supplier of vision technology and services to industrial and scientific OEMs, system integrators and reseller markets, highlights the basic capabilities of machine vision and the types of components needed for a system.

This is the latest in a series of educational videos that are part of the ‘European Imaging Academy’ playlist. The European Imaging Academy is an educational initiative from STEMMER IMAGING and the playlist features specially prepared training videos of up to 10 minutes duration on a wide variety of machine vision subjects. The ‘Applications and demos’ category on the YouTube channel is also highly popular, showing vision systems in action on real applications in a host of industries.

Stemmer Imaging's commitment to education in vision topics doesn’t stop there. Regular machine vision training seminars are run in the UK under the guidance of the European Imaging Academy to provide machine vision education for end-users and vision integrators alike. The programme of seminars includes product-specific training, independent machine vision theory training and best practice training.

The company also publishes a free, 450-page Imaging & Vision Handbook which is a valuable reference guide for all users of machine vision technology. It covers numerous basic topics from all areas of imaging and machine vision and addresses a host of practical imaging and machine vision questions. Details of the current seminar programme and how to receive a copy of the Imaging and Vision handbook can be found at www.stemmer-imaging.co.uk.
