Load cells & weighing electronics

16 August 2017

HBM will be exhibiting its leading range of load cells and weighing electronics for checkweighers, packaging and filling and sorting machines at PPMA 2017.

With speed, precision, hygiene and price being some of the key considerations for manufacturers of packaging machines, HBM will be showcasing its latest range of load cells and modules, which include the award winning WTX120 weighing terminal, which has been designed for simple integration into industrial and rail mounted weighing applications.

Suitable for use in filling, dosing and sorting plants and machines, the new high performance terminal is based on the very latest strain gauge technology and is approved for legal-for-trade applications; it offers real time communication via industrial Ethernet and Fieldbus interfaces. Easily integrated into standard industrial control systems, the WTX120 is compatible with PanelX software.

Visitors to the show are also invited to find out more about HBM’s impressive range of load cells, which have been specifically developed to meet the stringent hygiene regulations required in food production. The innovative PW25 and PW27 range of load cells, designed for use in filling systems and packaging plants, multi-head combination weighers and static scales, are hermetically encapsulated and housed in stainless steel making them compatible with all cleaning and disinfectant ranges commonly used in the production process.

Featuring a clean and smooth cylindrical design that is non absorbent and free from imperfection, such as grooves and gaps, to avoid gathering, the top surfaces of the PW25 and PW27 are also inclined to prevent the collection of dust, product residue or water droplets, which reduces the possibility of contamination.

Ingress protected to IP68/IP69k, the PW27 enables efficient and accurate weighing equipment to be used in fields where aseptic production is require.  It meets the guidelines set out by the EHEDG (European Hygienic Engineering and Design Group).

Also on display at the show is the FIT7A intelligent digital load cell for dynamic weighing applications.  Featuring class C4 accuracy per OIML R60 and a maximum scale division Y of up to 25,000, the FIT7A addresses the problems associated with bottlenecks, which can slow down production rates.  Incorporating the very latest and sophisticated technology, the FIT7A performs an impressive 180 weighings per minute.
