Wash down capability

A new range of IP67-rated size 34 hybrid stepper motors designed to be washed down has been introduced by Astrosyn International Technology. The L-series motors are intended for motion control applications in damp, unclean environments.
The new design includes sealed shafts and lead wire connection via a sealed gland into the special terminal box to prevent moisture ingress into the motor electrics. These features are complemented by a special paint finish that protects the external surfaces of the motor.
"The sealed motor and special paint finish will be invaluable for process equipment used in the food handling and packaging industries,” said Simon Hunt, Astrosyn’s technical director. "Decontamination is a major consideration in this highly regulated area and we expect the wash down capability to be a major benefit.”
