LINEAR DRIVE SYSTEMS TO SUIT THE INDIVIDUAL APPLICATION NEED
02 December 2013
The drylin® range is specifically developed for applications within the linear sector, with the extensive product range completely covering all application areas from the drylin® T Monorail systems to the drylin® R Round shaft guide bearings.

The stroke length in all systems is freely selectable and the drive given either by hand wheel or motor, emphasizing a system that is easy to obtain, install and in-turn maintain. igus’® product portfolio provides lubrication-free linear drives that are driven either by a trapezoidal thread, high helix thread or toothed belt, resulting in the general nature of the products having cost-effective and low-maintenance properties ensuring the user can achieve the maximum output.
The use of polymer plain bearings on all moving application parts leads to a resistance to dirt and debris, due to the lubrication-free element, particles cannot build up and stick to the moving parts, as well as being corrosion and chemical resistant. Typical sectors of application of the drylin® range therefore include agricultural economy, plant design, printing industry, glass industry, woodworking, heavy duty, textile technology and packaging to name a few.
Not only are igus’® complete linear drive systems more than suited to linear automation, the products are also developed to be used within robotic applications. Winner of the IF design award, triflex® R, is the third generation 3-axis energy chains® especially developed for the sophisticated 6-axis robotic applications in harsh industrial environments. Some of the important design features are: Fiber rod option for the partial reinforcement of the triflex® R, approximately +/- 10°. Torsion per chain link, high tensile strength through ball-andsocket joint. More than 100 components have been made available meanwhile in the triflex® R product range, so that all requirements can be covered from large welding robots up to the small pallet robots.
