White Paper on Control Theory
24 October 2012
ABB has published a new White Paper to explain how controllers can be used to optimise virtually any industrial process.
The White Paper builds on recent advances in control technology to establish a host of new possibilities for the way that processes can be monitored and controlled. These include the use of complex algorithms capable not only of reacting to changes in process conditions, but also increasingly predicting them as well.
Available on request, the White Paper gives an overview of control applications, types of control systems and Proportional- Integral-Derivative, or PID, controllers. It goes into further detail on common control terms such as loop tuning, autotuning, gain scheduling, and adaptive control, using a mixture of text, graphs and diagrams to thoroughly explain each one.
