Synchronous control
16 June 2016
Designed to control two actuators or motors in parallel, the EM-239 drive from Finnish motor controller manufacturer, Electromen OY, is available through OEM Automatic.
The controller provides accurate synchronous parallel control when required for specific applications. Driving in tandem either two 12 or 24Vdc actuators or motors up to 10A max continuous each.
Synchronous control is achieved by comparing the incoming pulse feedback (hall sensors/encoder) from each of the two actuators or motors and adjusting to match the speeds together or stopping both if synchronicity cannot be achieved. This is done to avoid mechanical stress or damage to the system.
Functionality includes speed control, bi-directional, soft start/stop, adjustable current limiting, homing routines and various fault trips/outputs. Settings for the controller are accessed through either the handheld interface or USB connection and PC software. A DIN rail mount is available for fitting the controller inside a control panel or plastic/metal enclosure options are also available.
