Pitch & YAW Brakes For Wind Power
01 November 2012
Leading supplier of torque limiters, precision shaft couplings and safety brakes, Mayr Transmissions has launched a range of cold climate brakes designed for use in pitch and yaw drives of wind power turbines.

The ROBA-stop-M-CCV brakes are designed to operate in temperatures ranging from +40 to - 40°C and have been statically and dynamically tested in Mayr’s own low temperature facility to guarantee optimum performance across the entire temperature range.
The brakes, which have been developed in close collaboration with globally renowned wind power plant manufacturers, are offered in protection classes up to IP65, with corrosion protection to C4 and are designed to operate for a minimum life of 25 years.
To guarantee long term performance, reliability and above all safety, Mayr tests the functionality of every brake prior to them leaving the factory.
