Integrated servomotor with built-in Industrial Ethernet interface
02 May 2025
RECENTLY LAUNCHED by JVL A/S and available with full application support from Mclennan in the UK, the new MAC1004 integrated servomotor offers performance, efficiency and flexibility for precision motion control in industrial automation.

As part of a new generation MACmotor range, the MAC1004 sports a completely new software and hardware design and delivers 1kW of continuous servo power and a 3kW peak rating in a compact 80x80mm motor size. With increased efficiency and a 100% duty cycle rating, its wide choice of six built-in Industrial Ethernet options and faster processor combines with a new absolute multi-turn encoder that makes the MAC1004 a compelling choice for almost any application.
The new MAC1004 is directly powered from 115 or 230VAC (optional 320VDC) and as a standalone integrated servo motor allows machine builders the benefit of much reduced machine wiring in addition to fewer or smaller control cabinets in a typical setup. With only power and communication connections to manage, distributed systems also offer reduced commissioning effort and time.
The MAC1004 supports six Industrial Ethernet options including EtherCat, Profinet, and Ethernet IP with daisy-chain connection. Wireless Profinet, EtherNet IP and Modbus are further options along with IO-Link, CANopen and other commonly used comms’ interfaces. Rather than using individual modules for these options, as in previous integrated motor models, the new design is based around built-in options - reducing production cost and streamlining selection, with savings passed on to the customer.
Further controller design improvements have led to higher motor efficiency and a faster, more advanced processor enables precise and smooth motion control for superior production throughput. With its 100% duty cycle operation, the MAC1004 is well suited to use high-demand automation applications. Furthermore, a new battery free, self-powered, state-of-the-art absolute encoder is available for long-life and zero-maintenance operation.
The MAC1004 can also be optionally supplied with an STO connector and equipped for SoE Safety over Ethernet, internal brake, IP67 protection and a choice of M12 or M16 connectors for harsh environments.
As a long-time distribution partner, Mclennan provides a complete application service for JVL, covering individual product selection, motor sizing and application advice through to complete motion system integration across JVL’s complete product range. Mclennan also has distribution partnerships with other selected motion control component and systems manufacturers. And, with its own comprehensive design and build service provides stepper and servo motor-based automation solutions from single components to complete motion-based sub-systems.
